MAY UPDATE 2023Hello – General NewsWelcome to Home Start Dunfermline’s first newsletter of the year. Sorry we have been so quiet, it’s been a busy time for us all here. We have put this together to update you on the work we’re currently doing, and some of our plans for the months ahead. We are delighted first of all to Welcome our new Manager, Lesley-Ann Chessor, and relatively new Co-ordinator, Dianne Horne, to the Team. We are looking forward to exciting things ahead – starting with our Family Group trips in June and our Away Days over the summer holidays. We are planning a Volunteer event to get everyone together soon and plans are afoot for a Preparation Course for new Volunteers in the Autumn – so if you know of anyone interested in joining us, please ask them to get in touch directly. Group ActivitiesAll of our families are invited to our weekly family group led by Home-Start staff, which includes BookBug and craft sessions for the children and once a month crafts for mums. You will find us at the Dell Farquharson Centre, Nethertown Broad Street, Dunfermline every Thursday from 10 – 12 noon. A snack is provided for the children, and Tea/Coffee for Mum! Our Baby Club for pregnant and new mums is held on a Monday at 12.30 pm, also at Baldridgeburn Community Centre, Baldridgeburn Road, Dunfermline We also work in partnership with Treetops Family Nurture Centre, Granville Way, Rosyth to deliver a Group on a Wednesday afternoon from 1.30 – 3 pm. Infant MassageOur staff are trained through the International Association of Infant Massage (IAIM). We run an ongoing programme of free Infant Massage classes in various locations in Dunfermline and the South West Fife villages. We can work with infants until their first birthday, but the course usually works better before babies are crawling. The classes are a lovely way for parents to learn about and bond with their little ones. Contact us for more details and to book a space!
